Montreal police command post: Stabbing death of 19-year-old in Hochelaga

Montreal police (SPVM) are asking the public for help about a murder that took place on Sept. 21 in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

A mobile command post was deployed near the scene of the incident on Tuesday morning – near the intersection of Sherbrooke East and Arcand Street.

Investigators were present at the site to collect information and testimonies that may help the case.

According to police, on Sept. 21 around 6:55 p.m., a conflict between a group of individuals and a 19-year-old man took place outside the Esso gas station, on Sherbrooke Street East, between Arcand Street and Haig Ave.

The victim was allegedly stabbed by one of the suspects before being rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries the following day.

No arrests have been made so far. This marks the 26th homicide in Montreal this year.
