Man struck by vehicle in Montreal

An 82-year-old man is seriously injured after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Ahuntsic-Cartierville on Wednesday night.

Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls around 11:20 p.m. about the incident at the intersection of Papineau Ave. and Sauriol Street.

When officers arrived, they found the man conscious with injuries to his upper body. He was transported to hospital.

The 30-year-old female driver was not injured.

According to the SPVM, they say the driver was heading west on Sauriol and turned left onto Papineau, which is when she struck the pedestrian.

The investigation is ongoing.
