How you can discover Montreal’s best ramen dishes through this two week festival: Ramen Ramen 2024

Calling all ramen lovers!

It’s the third edition of Ramen Ramen Fes where the iconic Japanese noodle dish is celebrated.

“I love ramen because I grew up with it,” said Hachiro Fujise, Montreal chef and ramen expert. “I taste all the flavours of the chef.”

“It’s really creative,” he added. “Every bowl is different.”

The two week delicious-filled festival works like this:

“You have to go on our Instagram page or Facebook page and look for Ramen Ramen Fes,” said Charles Nguyen, Community Relations of the festival. “There will be a link to a map, an interactive map where you can pretty much locate per neighborhood which place where you wanna go and try.”

“If you go on the page, you’ll see different photos of each of the restaurants,” explained Nguyen. “If you put a thumbs up, that means they’ll get one point.”

“If you give them a heart and send them some love,” he added. “They’ll get two points.”

Over 30 restaurants in and around the city are participating this year.

Montreal foodies can enjoy the voting — and eating — until Oct. 27th.

As for Fujise, he is always enjoying great food — not only because the city is filled with it but also because he is a renown chef, always creating his own dishes with his wife.

“To me [what makes a good ramen] it’s a balance, the balance between the texture, flavour and all the garnishes,” he explained.

“Montreal should definitely participate if they love ramen,” said Nguyen. “It’s another way of celebrating Japanese culture.”

“There’s always space for ramen.”
