Montreal police are seeking the public’s help to locate a 15-year-old boy who has been missing since Monday. 

According to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal, Kibande Mayaka was last seen Monday evening at his family home in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.

The teenager is Black, five feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds.

He speaks Swahili and struggles to communicate in French.

On Monday evening, he was wearing a black coat with a fur hood, black pants and white Air Force sneakers. He had a brown backpack.

Police say investigators and his family have reasons to worry for his health and safety and the teenager may be getting around on foot. Anyone with information about Mayaka’s whereabouts should contact 911 or reach out to their neighbourhood police station.
