Major road closures may cause traffic for Montreal and Laval drivers this weekend.
Papineau-Leblanc Bridge and portion of Highway 19
The Papineau-Leblanc Bridge and a portion of Highway 19 will be completely closed to traffic from May 3 to 6. The closure is required to replace the stays on the structure.
Highway 19 (Papineau) will be completely closed to traffic starting Friday at 10 p.m. until Monday 4:30 a.m.
There will be a complete closure southbound between Highway 440 (Jean-Noël-Lavoie) and Henri-Bourrassa Blvd., but access to Saint-Martin Blvd. will be possible.
There will be a closure heading northbound between Henri-Bourassa and de la Concorde Blvd.
To travel from Montreal to Laval, drivers are urged to take the Pie-IX Bridge and the Médéric-Martin Bridge.
Honoré-Mercier Bridge
One lane will be available in each direction on the Honoré-Mercier Bridge on Saturday May 4 from 2 a.m. until 11:59 p.m.
There will also be a complete closure of the entrance ramp and the reserved lane from Airlie Street starting Saturday at 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
LaSalle Blvd. between Trésor-Caché and Lafleur Avenue will be closed.
Road users are advised to use the detour route via Airlie Street.
Sources interchange
Repair work on the Sources interchange in Pointe-Claire will cause the ramp leading from Des Sources Blvd. towards Highway 20 West to be completely closed from May 6 until July 2024.
Also, the ramp leading from Donegani Avenue to Des Sources Blvd. South is currently closed until May 27.
The work could be postponed, extended, or cancelled due to weather conditions or operational constraints.
Detour routes will be marked with temporary signage and congestion is to be expected. Quebec’s Transport Ministry recommends that road users travelling in the area allow extra time to get to their destination.
Drivers can also consult Québec 511, to properly plan their trip.
