A 25-year-old driver died Saturday after a collision on Route 338 in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Around 9 a.m. Saturday morning, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) and emergency services were called to intervene on Route 338 after a crash.
SQ spokesperson Nicolas Scholtus said the woman, who was travelling northbound, tried to overtake a vehicle — possibly illegally — by going in the opposite lane.
She allegedly collided with another driver, 45, who was travelling southbound. The person was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but their life is not in danger, Scholtus said.
The 25-year-old driver was taken to hospital in critical condition. She was pronounced dead later that day.
A collision investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
