McGill University is condemning a protest outside the home of one of its senior administrators Sunday morning by supporters of the pro-Palestinian encampment on the school’s downtown campus.
Protest organizers said in a post on social media that the university administration had ignored students who are calling for the school to divest from investments in companies linked to Israel.

The university said in a written statement Sunday afternoon that protesting outside a home went too far.
“McGill condemns this absolutely unacceptable behaviour. Targeting people and their families at their residence crosses the line from peaceful protest to intimidation and harassment,” the university said.
In a video posted online, protesters can be seen using megaphones as they chant outside the administrator’s home, telling her that she “can’t hide” and accusing her of being complicit in the what they describe as a genocide.
The protesters, like those at the downtown encampment, are also demanding an academic boycott of Israeli institutions, in addition to divestment from companies that they say are linked to the state of Israel, and for the university to promise that it won’t discipline any students for their involvement in pro-Palestinian protests.
Montreal police said protesters gathered outside the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce home around 10:30 a.m. and left peacefully around 1 p.m. of their own accord.
Const. Caroline Chèvrefils said officers were on scene to ensure things remained peaceful, preserve order and protect the safety of everyone invovled.
She said there was no property damage or vandalism and that no arrests were made, nor were any tickets issued.
