Man shot in Côte Saint-Luc, expected to survive

Montreal police (SPVM) are on the scene after a man was shot in Côte Saint-Luc on Wednesday – in broad daylight.

It happened just before 12 p.m. at the corner of Montclair and Fielding, near two daycares.

The 27-year-old was hit by gunfire in the lower body.

Reports are that he was walking with a woman – who is said to have not been injured.

As of right now, SPVM spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier says they have no reason to fear for the man’s life – but are waiting for medical authorities to confirm.

No arrests have been made, but police are looking for at least one suspect.

Officers are also speaking to witnesses who were on the scene to gather more information on the event.

A perimeter has been setup from Walkley to Rosedale, and from Chester to Somerled.
