Streets in central and southwest Montreal will be closed Friday evening for the annual Tour la Nuit and Sunday morning and afternoon for the Tour de l’Île. Both events start at Jeanne-Mance Park, and Parc Ave. next to it will be closed during all of Friday evening and most of Sunday.

Friday’s Tour la Nuit then travels down Berri St. and winds its way toward the Peel Basin before going along the Lachine Canal on St-Patrick St. and returning via St-Ambroise St. and other streets on the northern side. Streets begin closing at 7:30 p.m. and finish reopening at 11:30 p.m.

Sunday’s Tour de l’Île takes cyclists through Outremont, Snowdon, Lachine, LaSalle, Verdun, Sud-Ouest and Old Montreal, with optional longer routes on open roads to the West Island. Streets begin closing at 8:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. and reopen between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Though there are overpasses and underpasses that allow vehicles to cross the route (including all highways), some areas — including an area of the Plateau-Mont-Royal bordered by Rachel St., St-Urbain St., St-Denis St. and des Pins Ave., will be inaccessible to vehicles coming in or going out for about two hours Friday evening. Full traffic information is available at velo.qc.ca.

Highways 25/440

In Laval, resurfacing work will be done on Highway 25 between St-Henri Rd. and Highway 440, requiring partial closures overnight starting Sunday, and on Highway 440 between Montée St-François and Route 335, requiring complete closure of the highway and diversion of traffic onto the service road. These disruptions will continue until the fall.

Ongoing disruptions

  • Highway 10: The Bonaventure Expressway has two lanes in each direction between the Peel Basin and Victoria Bridge until Aug. 15. Exit 3 (Carrie-Derick St.) is closed.

  • Route 136: The Guy St. exit eastbound is closed until the fall.
  • Highway 440: In Laval, asphalt work is being done on the eastbound service road between Highway 13 and Industriel Blvd., overnight between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., affecting entrances and exits, until the winter.
