Here is a partial list of what will be open and closed in Montreal on Canada Day, Monday, July 1.

CLOSED

Government offices such as Revenu Québec, Accès Montréal, municipal court.

Canada Post offices, with no mail collection or delivery.

Malls and banks.

OPEN

Regular garbage, recycling and compost collection.

Ecocentres and Montreal’s 311 information line.

Montreal’s public markets, including Atwater and Jean-Talon, plus Espace pour la vie attractions — the Biodome, Insectarium, Botanical Garden, Planetarium and Biosphere. For more information, consult espacepourlavie.ca.

Parking rules and restrictions, including parking meters.

VARYING

Schedules for libraries, pools, sports venues and cultural centres vary from borough to borough. Please check individual locations or visit montreal.ca for more details.

Grocery stores and pharmacies.

Société des alcools du Québec stores will be open, other than those located in malls. All Société québécoise du cannabis stores will be closed.

Public transit services will operate on holiday schedules. Montreal buses and métro will run on a special holiday schedule. Laval transit buses will run on a Saturday schedule and Longueuil buses on a Sunday schedule. Exo trains and the REM will run on Sunday schedules and Exo buses mainly on Saturday schedules.
