Work has begun on an $870-million project to replace the roof of Montreal’s Olympic Stadium with a fixed one that will feature a transparent glass hoop, so the tower will be visible from the inside. Originally constructed in the late 1980s, the roof has been plagued with problems even after it was rebuilt in 1998.
