Heat warning ends for Montreal

The heat warning issued by Environment Canada earlier this week was still in effect for Montreal and surrounding areas until late afternoon on Wednesday, but the humid air mass hanging over Southern Quebec should leave the region overnight.

“Extreme heat can affect everyone’s health,” said the weather agency

Montrealers should be aware of heat stroke and how to avoid it, including staying hydrated, reducing physical effort especially outdoors when the sun is peaking, and to avoiding alcohol and coffee.

On Wednesday, expect a mix of sun and clouds, with a 30 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon. The high will be 27, but  with the humidex it’ll feel like 35 degrees.

Similar Thursday with partly sunny skies. A high of 24, but humidity levels will only reach 28 degrees.

Sunshine on Friday, with a high of 26 and a low of 18.

On Saturday, a 40 per cent chance of rain, with a mix of sun and clouds. There will be a high of 27 and a low of 17 degrees.

Clear skies Sunday, with a high of 26.

Warm weather continues Monday and Tuesday with a mix of sun and clouds, and a high of 27 degrees.
