Downtown Montreal hit-and-run: Cyclist hospitalized, two arrested

A cyclist was struck at a downtown intersection on Wednesday afternoon, Montreal police (SPVM) investigating the hit-and-run.

Police received a 911 call at around 2:15 p.m. about the collision at the intersection of Sainte-Catherine and Berri streets.

The cyclist, a 47-year-old man, was sent to hospital with severe injuries to his lower body — authorities say his life is not in danger.

Investigators later found a vehicle on Saint-Denis with a 51-year-old male driver and a 20-year-old male passenger inside.

The two were arrested after failing to stop at the scene of the collision.

An investigation is ongoing.
