Fisheries and Oceans Canada is giving $850,000 to a Montreal-based group that has developed artificial intelligence technology to protect whales and other marine life from ship strikes. Antoine Gagné, chief technology officer with Whale Seeker, tells CBC Montreal News at Six anchor Debra Arbec how this tool detects marine mammals 25 times faster than the human eye.
