Motorcyclist injured on Montmagny motorsport track has died

MONTMAGNY — A motorcyclist who was critically injured in a crash on a motorsport track in Montmagny, in Quebec’s Chaudière-Appalaches region, has died.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), for as-yet undetermined reasons, at about 11:45 a.m. Sunday the motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, crashed the motorcycle he was riding at the Autodrome Montmagny, a multi-track motorsport venue. Montmagny is about 300 kilometres northeast of Montreal.

He was transported in critical condition to hospital, where his death was declared on Sunday afternoon.

Based on information gathered at the scene, said SQ spokesperson Adam Marineau, there is no criminal element related to the event.
