Montreal police investigating murder of 64-year-old woman in Lachine

The body of a 64-year-old woman was found in an apartment in the Lachine borough Monday evening.

Police were called to the location on 32nd Avenue, near Victoria Street, at around 7:45 p.m.

Once on the scene, police found the 64-year-old woman unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Montreal police have confirmed that the death was a homicide.

It is the city’s 21st murder of the year.

Investigators from the SPVM’s Major Crimes Unit have been dispatched to the scene.

An investigation has been opened to try to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death.

No arrests have been made so far and police say there is no suspect at the moment.
