2 minors arrested after pepper spray attack at Laval McDonald’s

Laval police have arrested two minors in connection with a pepper spray attack that affected dozens of people at a McDonald’s in Chomedey in January.

Police say they identified the suspects after an extensive investigation and arrested them last week.

On Jan. 24, four individuals entered the McDonald’s on Saint-Martin Blvd. West and allegedly attacked a man inside with pepper spray, according to police.

The incident affected numerous customers, including children, who needed medical attention from paramedics. Reports indicate up to 30 people may have been impacted.

The suspects fled the scene on foot before authorities could arrive.

Police have since charged them with armed assault, mischief under $5,000, and carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

They appeared at the Laval courthouse on Aug. 1 and were released with certain conditions. Their cases are set to return to the Court of Quebec on Sept. 16.
