Just For Laughs festival confirms it will return to Montreal in 2025

The company organized a small number of shows this summer, under the brand “ComediHa! Salue Montréal,” scrambling to book some talent to fill the void. Its programming included free shows by Dane Cook and Iliza Shlesinger, and a club show with Terry DiMonte and Ted Bird, but no galas and nowhere near the scale Just For Laughs is used to.

ComediHa! said one of its “top priorities” will be to make next year’s festival “one of the most memorable in the brand’s storied history.”

In addition to the Montreal festival, Just For Laughs is coming back to other cities around the world:

  • Sydney, Australia, Nov. 18-23, 2024 (including Trevor Noah, Eric Idle, Brad Williams and Melanie Bracewell)
  • Bermuda, Jan. 22-25, 2025
  • Vancouver, Feb. 13-22, 2025

“Each of these festivals holds a long and significant history that we deeply respect and cherish,” Sylvain Parent-Bédard, president of ComediHa!, said in a statement.

“Working with our festival partners, we are bringing a new breath and vision into these events, which we believe will resonate with both long-time fans and new audiences alike. I’d also like to acknowledge our exceptional programming team, some returning and some new programmers, who are working swiftly and diligently to put together some truly remarkable lineups.”
