Testing of the Réseau express metropolitain network is scheduled to continue next week, this time on the Anse-à-l’Orme branch.
The “dynamic” tests will be underway as of Sept. 3 between the Des Sources and Anse-à-l’Orme stations from 6 a.m. to 8 pm. Monday through Sunday.
Maintenance vehicles may be on the tracks to make improvements to the networks after 8 p.m.
During the first week of tests, rail cars will circulate on the tracks “to locate all the markers on the network,” the REM said in a recent notice.
Work will then be finalized on the tracks, at which point cars won’t be running. Low-speed testing will begin at the end of the month, with high-speed testing to follow.
The notice says operators will be on board the trains during initial testing to ensure reliability and safety standards are being met. After that, cars will be operated from the control centre.
The work on the Anse-à-l’Orme branch follows testing over the past few months on the Deux-Montagnes branch.
