Upcoming partial closure for Montreal’s Mercier bridge

Montreal drivers will see some driving delays, as work is expected to continue on the Honoré Mercier Bridge.

Traffic on the bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, with all lanes being reopened at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28

Transport Quebec says work will be carried out on the bridge, including “repairs to the deck slabs of the structure towards the South Shore.”

The Ministry recommends that road users avoid the area when possible.

“Users who must travel in the area are asked to allow more time to reach their destination,” they said in a news release.

One lane is set to be available in each direction on the bridge.

And a complete closure of the entrance ramp is set to occur, as well as the reserved lane from Airlie Street.

Drivers are advised to leave extra time for their commutes, and that construction may be delayed due to weather conditions.
