A car struck and injured a 12-year-old boy who was riding an electric scooter in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough on Tuesday.

Montreal police say the car was turning right onto Viau Boulevard, at the intersection of Metropolitan Boulevard, the service road for the adjacent highway, when it hit the boy.

The boy was transported to hospital but his life is not in danger.

The car’s driver, a 57-year-old woman, was treated for shock.

On June 24, a 16-year-old on an electric scooter was hit by a vehicle in Montreal’s Ahuntsic neighbourhood and died of his injuries.
