27-year-old man dead after stabbing in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough

A 27-year-old man has died in hospital after he was stabbed early Saturday morning in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough, according to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

Montreal police responded to a 911 call around 4:50 a.m. concerning the stabbing. The incident happened on St. Antoine Street near Rose-de-Lima Street. 

“We know that there was a conflict but we don’t know why the conflict began,” says SPVM spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier. 

The victim was transported to the hospital with stab wounds to his upper body but died later in the morning. 

The SPVM’s investigators of major crimes are on the scene. Gauthier says no arrests have been made so far and that investigators are hoping to get some answers after interviewing witnesses and reviewing camera footage.
