5 arrested in connection with fatal shooting of man on Montreal’s South Shore

The suspects were arrested Wednesday after a six-month investigation. Two men, ages 18 and 19, are facing second-degree murder charges while three others, including two teenagers, are accused of accessory after the fact.

Five people have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man back in January in Saint-Lambert on Montreal’s South Shore. 

Gabriel Lauzier was found seriously injured by gunshot wounds in the outdoor parking lot of the Saint-Lambert commuter train station. He died in hospital hours later. 

The suspects arrested Wednesday after a six-month investigation include two men, aged 18 and 19, who will appear at the Longueuil courthouse Thursday to face charges of second-degree murder, aggravated larceny, pointing a firearm and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Three other people, a 20-year-old man and two 17-year-olds, a boy and a girl, were also arrested and are accused of accessory after the fact.

Longueuil police says it will now focus its efforts on the legal proceedings and work closely with Quebec’s Crown prosecutors’ office to “ensure that justice is served.”
