A 55-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman on Montreal’s South Shore.
Roussillon police were called to a residential unit in Sainte-Catherine around 2 a.m. Sunday and discovered the woman’s body. According to Radio-Canada, the body had signs of violence.
Éric Biscotti was arrested that same day and appeared at the Longueuil courthouse.
He was charged with two offences: committing an indignity to a human body and arson.
When asked about the reason for those charges and details about a possible fire, the Sûreté du Québec, which took over the investigation, declined to answer and said the investigation is still ongoing.
Biscotti was scheduled to be back in court Monday morning.
