When Xavier Watso was on the show in the summer of 2023, he was a blue-checked content creator on Tik Tok. The popularity of his engaging videos about Indigenous cultures, languages, and important issues, led to more opportunities in the world of media. And at the time of our recording, he had just handed in the keys to his drama classroom; ending his 16-year, high school teaching career, and settling into the world of theatre.He kicked it off by acting in the play ‘alterNative’ at the Centaur Theatre last fall. Xavier Watso is also a highly solicited powwow emcee – making the rounds around the province, including at the First People’s Festival in Montreal. So no surprise that Tik Tok honoured Xavier Watso as one of nine Visionary Voices during National Indigenous History Month this year.
