Montreal police searching for 78-year-old West Island man

Montreal police are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 78-year-old man from the West Island.

John-William Simpson was last seen on Friday at around 8 p.m. while driving on Highway 20 east near the Woodland exit in Beaconsfield.

He abandoned his car on the highway and left on foot, heading east.

Simpson could have trouble getting his bearings, according to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

He stands five feet, 10 inches, has brown eyes and grey hair and speaks English.

He was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, beige shorts, black shoes, white socks and a black baseball cap with a white logo on the front.

His family and SPVM investigators fear for his health and safety.
