Pedestrian dead after being hit by vehicle in Brossard

Police say the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Du Quartier Boulevard and Lancaster Street.

Longueuil police say a pedestrian in his 70s has died after being struck by a vehicle in Brossard.

Police say the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Du Quartier Boulevard and Lancaster Street. 

A spokesperson for Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil said the driver is a man in his 20s.

Police say he is expected to face charges of dangerous driving causing death.

A perimeter has been set up while police investigate what happened.

A section of Du Quartier Boulevard is closed from Des Prairies Road and Lancaster Street.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area.
