SQ searching for missing woman from Hemmingford, Que.

Provincial police are continuing efforts to locate a missing 29-year-old woman from Hemmingford, Que.

Last Saturday, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) issued a call for the public’s help in finding Kelsey Watt.

Watt was  last seen that day around 12:30 p.m. on Covey Hill Road in Hemmingford, which is located in southern Quebec minutes away from the U.S. border.

She stands five feet, six inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. Her eyes are green, and she has red hair.

Watt is believed to be travelling on foot. She was wearing a black coat when she was last seen.

On Sunday, the SQ announced it had set up a command post. On Tuesday, the police service said the command post would be remain in place for an indeterminate period. 

Watt’s relatives said in a media statement published on Tuesday that the family is “grateful beyond expression for the outpouring of generosity from our community” since her disappearance. 

“The firefighters, volunteers, SQ, GRC, police, people who brought food, vigil organizers. Thank you,” they wrote. 

Anyone who sees Watt or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the SQ at 1-800-659-4264.
