18-year-old injured after assault in Montreal North

An 18-year-old man was injured after an armed assault in the Montreal North borough on Sunday evening.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a call around 7 p.m. regarding the incident near rue de Dijon and avenue P.-M. Flavier.

At the scene, officers found the young man injured by a sharp object in the upper body.

The SPVM told CityNews that he was transported to hospital, and that his life is not in danger.

According to initial information, they add, a conflict escalated between the victim and one or more suspects who fled before officers arrived.

No arrests have been made so far.

An investigation is ongoing.
