An Amber Alert has been issued for a five-year-old child who went missing from Brossard, on Montreal’s South Shore, on Monday night.
Getty Shi Gao is 1.1 m (3’6’’) tall and weighs 41 lbs.
He has brown hair and eyes and was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt.
Yang Ruixue, 65, is suspected of having abducting Gao on Monday around 6 p.m.
Police are asking the public to look out for a white 2024 Tesla 3 model with an Ontario license plate: GVMK 536.
Few details are available about the circumstances of the abduction, but witnesses reportedly saw the suspect leaving with the child early Monday evening and alerted emergency services.
The suspect is believed to have a direct link to the child, but the nature of that link has not been specified.
The police are not ruling out any possibilities regarding the whereabouts of the child and the suspect.
The alert has been extended to Ontario.
