Fatal stabbing of 27-year-old man in the Sud-Ouest

A 27-year-old man was killed early Saturday in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough.

The SPVM responded to a 911 call around 4:50 a.m. concerning a man who had allegedly been stabbed on Saint Antoine Street W. and Rose-de-Lima Street.

The victim suffered injuries to the upper body and was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to SPVM spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier.

No arrests have yet been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are gathering surveillance footage from the area, and witness testimonies.

The SPVM says several suspects are being considered.

“These are just hypotheses that are on the table,” Gauthier said.

It was the 12th murder on the island of Montreal this year.

Another man was possibly stabbed overnight, this time in the Ville-Marie borough, on René-Lévesque Blvd. E. near De Bullion Street.

According to authorities, the victim, a 58-year-old man, presented himself to a hospital for treatment, and is now out of danger.
