Fight leaves three people injured in Montreal park

Three people were injured after a fight broke out in a park in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve on Thursday night.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a call to 911 around 8:10 p.m. about an incident at Bellerive Park, on Notre-Dame Street near Saint-Donat Street.

When they arrived officers discovered three victims.

A 47-year-old man and a 31-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries. However, the third victim, a 39-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with serious upper body injuries.

He was initially in critical condition, but is now out of danger – medical officials confirmed overnight.

According to initial information gathered by police from various witnesses, a conflict broke out in the park between several people. During the fight, three men were allegedly attacked by another man with a blunt object.

The suspect fled in a vehicle and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
