Montreal police are investigating gunshots that were fired in the in downtown Montreal overnight into Wednesday.

At around 3:25 a.m., calls were made to 911 about shots heard on Drummond Street, near René-Lévesque Boulevard West.

A pizzeria was reportedly the target of the gunfire, only a few weeks after being hit with a firebomb.

“When they arrived on the scene, patrol officers located at least one projectile impact on the front of a commercial building, as well as at least one shell casing on the roadway,” said officer Julien Lévesque, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Department.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made so far.

Only two weeks earlier, on July 18, the building in question that houses the La Medusa pizzeria had already been targeted by a Molotov cocktail in the middle of the night, but no one was injured.
