Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel closed overnight for repairs

Highway 25, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel will be completely closed in both directions overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.

According to the Transport Ministry, the closure is required to move formwork tools and carry out maintenance work, including road marking and repairs.

Highway 25 towards the South Shore

There will be a complete closure between Exit 4 (Montreal (downtown) / Jacques Cartier Bridge) and the entrance from Charron Island (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel), from Wednesday 9 p.m. to Thursday 5 a.m.

The entrances heading eastward towards Souligny Ave., between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand Street will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway.

Highway 25 towards Montreal

The Highway towards Montreal between Exit 90 – (Aut. 20 West, Route 132, La Prairie / USA, Varennes, Airport P.-E.-Trudeau) from Highway 20 and the entrance from Notre-Dame Street East will be closed from Wednesday at 9 p.m. until Thursday 5 a.m.

The entrances will also be closed 30 minutes before the full closure of the highway.

The work could be postponed, extended, or cancelled due to weather conditions or operational constraints.

Quebec’s Transport Ministry recommends that road users travelling in the area allow extra time to get to their destination.
