Major road closures set for the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge this weekend

The Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, connecting Senneville and Vaudreuil-Dorion along Highway 40 (Félix-Leclerc), will be completely closed from Sept. 6 to 9.

According to the Transport Ministry, the closure is needed to continue working on the drainage system for the new bridge and to implement a new configuration heading eastbound on Highway 40.

Maintenance work will also be carried out on the bridge, including the installation of a membrane and asphalt paving.

Starting Sept. 6, there will be multiple road closures from 11:59 p.m., until Sept. 9, at 5 a.m.:

Highway 40 westbound between Exit 41 (Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue / Blvd. des Anciens-Combattants / Highway 20 westbound / Île Perrot) and the entrance from Saint-Charles Ave. will be completely closed.

There will be a complete closure between Highway 40 eastbound between Exit 35  (Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac / Vaudreuil-Dorion / Av. St-Charles) and the entrance from des Anciens-Combattants Blvd.

The eastbound ramp from Highway 40 to the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be close at the Highway 30 interchange.

Access to Senneville Road will remain open.

Motorists are encouraged to use Highways 20 and 30 instead.

In addition, the toll will be suspended in both directions on Highway 30 to provide an additional alternative for drivers.

On Monday Sept. 9, three lanes will be available on the bridge.
