Man arrested after illegal items found in his vehicle: SQ

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) have arrested a man in his 30s after drugs and cash were allegedly found in his vehicle on Tuesday.

SQ officers responded to a call around 11:30 a.m. about an altercation between two people in a car on Highway 40 in Montreal.

After searching the vehicle, the SQ seized illegal cannabis, two phones, over $60,000 in cash, and other illegal items.

Following an investigation, officers arrested the driver for breaking his parole.

The suspect was interviewed by SQ investigators before being released on a promise to appear in court.

He could face charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cannabis for the purpose of sale.

The passenger, who is also in her 30s, could face the same charges.
