A 40-year-old man who set off an Amber Alert on Monday in St-Vallier — east of Quebec City — has been formally charged with kidnapping two children.
The kids were found safe and sound about six hours after they were allegedly abducted by the family member.

In addition to one count of kidnapping, the man has been charged with failing to provide the necessities of life for a child under 16.
His identity cannot be disclosed, as a court order prevents the publication of any information that could identify the two alleged victims.
The accused will remain in custody until his next court hearing on June 6.
