Man stabbed in Hochelaga

A man is in hospital after being stabbed during an assault in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve on Tuesday night.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at around 9:21 p.m. about an injured man in an alley near Sainte-Catherine and Chambly streets.

Emergency services located the victim, a 39-year-old man, with severe injuries to his upper body – caused by a bladed weapon. He was still conscious and breathing before being transported to hospital.

The SPVM noted that the man was likely attacked by more than one individual in the alley.

No arrests have been made and a security perimeter was set up to allow investigators and forensic technicians to analyze the scene.
