Montreal ecocentres extend opening hours for summer season

To support Montrealers in their spring cleaning, the city’s seven ecocentres switched to extended summer hours starting Monday.

The recovery and reuse sites are a place for residents to responsibly dump many kinds of things in a way that is safe — including construction materials or products that are harmful to ones health or the environment.

According to a press release, over 300,000 visits were recorded in the network in 2023 — A record number, they say.

Adding that ecocentres collect over 85,000 tonnes of materials every year like wood, metals, tires, refrigerators, electronics and more.

Until Oct. 14, they will be open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
