Montreal police cruiser in collision, one officer sent to hospital

A Montreal police (SPVM) officer is in hospital after a collision between a patrol cruiser and a vehicle in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve overnight.

The incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Pie-IX Blvd. and Sherbrooke Street.

According to the SPVM, one officer was hurt and taken to hospital with a possible head injury. Another officer in the vehicle may have an arm injury.

The 83-year-old driver and the 75-year-old passenger in the other vehicle suffered no injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
