There will be several road closures this weekend.
Highway 25 will be closed in both directions, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel from Friday to Sunday.
Quebec’s Transport Ministry said the closures are needed for maintenance work and to change the lane configuration on Highway 25 northbound to continue the reconstruction of the concrete slabs.
Exit 5 A-138 / Hochelaga Street / Sherbrooke Street will return to its original configuration.
Highway 25 towards the South Shore
There will be a complete closure of Highway 25 towards the South Shore (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) between Exit 4 – Montreal (downtown) / J.- Cartier Bridge and the entrance from Charron Island according to the following schedule:
Friday night to Saturday night, from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Saturday night to Sunday night, from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m.
The entrances will close 30 minutes before the road is completely closed.
Souligny Ave. eastbound, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets, will be closed 30 minutes before the complete highway closure.
Highway 25 towards Montreal
There will be a complete closure of Highway 25 towards Montreal (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) between Exit 90 – Highway 20 West / Route 132 / La Prairie / USA / Varennes / P. – E. – Trudeau Airport on Highway 20 and the entrance from Sherbrooke Street East according to the following schedule:
Friday night to Saturday night, from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Saturday night to Sunday night, from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m.
The entrances will close 30 minutes before the road is completely closed.
Boucherville Street
De Boucherville Street northbound and the reserve lane southbound between Hochelaga and Tellier Streets will be closed during from Tuesday to Friday night starting from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Highway 25 towards Montreal
The entrance from Notre-Dame East Street will be closed from Tuesday to Friday starting at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Route 136 West
Route 136 westbound between Exit 5 – R.-Bourassa Boul. / Champlain Bridge / Victoria Bridge and the entrance from Lucien-L’Allier Street will be closed from Friday, Sept. 6 at 11 p.m. until Monday, Sept. 9 at 5 a.m.,
As a detour, motorists can take Mansfield Street, Saint-Antoine West Street, and the entrance ramp at Lucien-L’Allier Street.
The entrance ramp to Viger Ave. East and the entrance ramp towards Saint-Antoine Street East will be closed as a default.
Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels
The Saint-Laurent Blvd. overpass will reopen between Viger Ave. and Saint-Antoine Street overnight Saturday.
However, repair work on the Saint-Urbain Street overpass will start overnight Sunday and will continue until the end of 2026.
As a default, Saint-Urbain Street between Viger Ave. and Saint-Antoine Street will be completely closed to traffic.
There will be a detour heading south via De Bleury Street (Place Jean-Paul Riopelle), and drivers can take Saint-Laurent Boulevard heading north.
The transport ministry noted that to ensure the durability of the structure, construction crews will replace the bridge deck, repair the foundation and work on the public network under the bridge.
Work may be postponed, extended, or cancelled due to weather conditions or operational constraints.
