Montreal firefighters responded to a call in Saint-Henri on Monday afternoon after an apartment building partially collapsed.
The three-storey building is located on Cazelais Street, near Walnut Street.
Excavation work at a nearby construction site seems to have triggered the incident – which happened around 1:30 p.m.
No one was inside when the collapse happened and there were no reported injuries.
The Red Cross has stepped in to help tenants.
City of Montreal inspectors have taken over the case.
