Police investigating apparent arson at DIX30 restaurant-bar

Longueuil police are investigating following an apparent arson that occurred overnight in a restaurant-bar at Quartier DIX30, in Brossard.

Emergency services were called around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday to the Mile Public House due to a fire.

The blaze was quickly brought under control by firefighters and did not spread, but police will still look into this incident.

“Traces of break-in and the place of origin of the fire lead our police officers to consider the event as being of a criminal nature,” said agent François Boucher, spokesperson for the Police Department of the agglomeration of Longueuil (SPAL).

No injures were reported and no arrests had been made as of early Tuesday morning.

However, SPAL is carrying out checks to determine if any vehicles or suspects have been seen in the area.

A security perimeter was set up. An investigation is ongoing.
