Severe thunderstorm watch ahead of Montreal Grand Prix weekend

As a party-like environment is forecasted in Montreal for the Grand Prix weekend, a severe thunderstorm watch is also forecasted.

Environment Canada issued the special weather statement, saying that “conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.”

“Be prepared for severe weather,” said the weather agency. “Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.”

More showers on the way for Montrealers throughout the weekend.

A risk of a thunderstorm on Saturday.

Cloudy and more rain possible on Sunday — with a high of 18 degrees.

Wet weather continuing into Monday.

With drier conditions and temperatures climbing back up on Tuesday.

It’ll be 26 degrees by Wednesday — with full sunshine.

Even warmer on Thursday with a high of 28 degrees — but more showers possible.
