SQ investigates suspicious death of woman in Sainte-Julienne

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating the suspicious death of a woman in her 60s, who was found in a residence in Sainte-Julienne, in the Lanaudière region.

SQ officers and emergency services received a call at around 1 p.m. on Tuesday and headed to a residence on des Amis Street.

“On site, an unconscious woman was discovered, bearing signs of injuries and violence,” said SQ spokesperson Nicolas Scholtus.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Since this is a suspicious death, the investigation is being conducted by the Sûreté du Québec’s crimes against the person investigation service,” explained Scholtus.

The forensic identification team was deployed to the scene to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the death.

As of Wednesday morning, there have been no arrests in this case.
