Suspect arrested in connection to metro station murder: Montreal police

Montreal police (SPVM) arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a man on Oct. 12 downtown.

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Montreal North on Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear at the Montreal courthouse on Wednesday to be charged with second-degree murder.

According to the SPVM, they received a call to 911 on Oct. 12, around 11:20 p.m. about a man who was stabbed on the platform of the Guy-Concordia metro station, heading toward Honoré-Beaugrand.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 37-year-old man with injuries to his upper body. He was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A command post was set up and several witnesses were interviewed by investigators.

It was later revealed that the suspect and the victim knew each other.
