Upcoming road closures for Montreal, Mirabel and Laval drivers

The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel will be completely closed to traffic overnight and a portion of Highway 13 and Highway 15 are set to experience congestion due to upcoming road work in early June.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility said in a news release on Monday that this barrier is required in order to carry out work related to the tunnel’s power supply.

They add that no disruptions are planned for work in the tunnel area during the weekend of May 31.

Transport Quebec says that episodes of congestion are to be expected.

The Ministry recommends road users who will have to travel in the area to allow more time to get to their destination.

Adding that the speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.

This project is included in the list of 2024-2026 road investments in the Laval region — they say that the project aims to improve safety and driving comfort on this road.

Highway 15

Diversion of traffic lanes on Highway 15 in Mirabel is expected from June 5 to the end of fall, announced Transport Quebec in a news release on Monday.

The three lanes of Autoroute 15 heading north, will be diverted onto the opposite roadway in the Highway 50 sector — but six lanes will remain available to users.

This track configuration is necessary in order to replace a culvert and carry out certain electrical work, they say.

The interventions are part of the construction project for a reserved lane on Highway 15, heading north, between Boisbriand and Mirabel.
