Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a man was assaulted with a blunt object outside of a bar in the Village area.
Police say officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to Ateteken Street near Ste. Catherine Street East after a fight escalated and someone was injured.
When they arrived on the scene, officers found a 24-year-old man injured to the upper body by a baton or bat-like weapon, the SPVM said.
No one else was on the scene and there were no other injuries reported.
Police are investigating to see who else was involved and how the altercation began and escalated.
