30 more victims could be connected with Longueuil sex-extortion suspect

Longueuil police have turned to the public in an effort to convince more than 30 potential victims of an alleged sex extortionist to step forward.

In a statement issued Tuesday morning, Longueuil police said they have arrested Martin Pillay, 43, and that he faces charges of voyeurism, using threats to solicit sex, extortion and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The investigation into Pillay, a resident of the Montreal borough of St-Laurent, was launched last December. Police allege Pillay filmed sexual partners without their knowledge and then blackmail them by threatening to post the videos.

While police say they have questioned three alleged victims, they contend there may have been “at least” 31 others. Police said they are publicizing Pillay’s arrest and modus operandi to convince anyone who believes they are a victim or could further the investigation to contact them as soon as possible at 450-463-7192.
