Boroughs are being shortchanged by city, Ensemble Montréal charges

Library hours are being shortened, potholes are staying unfilled and city workers’ overtime is being reduced as boroughs continue to be shortchanged by the Plante administration, Montreal’s opposition party charged on Tuesday.

“When you see potholes not being filled, when you see sidewalks that have to be repaired, when you see equipment in parks that has to be replaced, it’s a lack of manpower, so we’re struggling to get that done,” said Alan DeSousa, Ensemble Montréal’s critic for finance matters and the borough mayor of St-Laurent.
